What did he say? Why is Grant Cardone in the hot seat?

Grant Cardone is blowing up in the black social media world after his comments on the Lara Trump show, “The Right View with Lara Trump”. He spoke about how he speaks to the younger black audience but his comments came off a little distasteful.

Grant Cardone on speaking to his target audience.

But, was he wrong is the question?

I want to start by saying. Everyone has a target audience. You don’t always know what that target is upfront but after a little trial and era you will figure it out.

Grant has figured it out. And what has made him successful is speaking the language of his target audience.

He mentioned in the interview that one way he grabs attention is by flashing money, fancy cars and private jets. Is it his fault we are attracted to shiny things? No, he just understands the programming and uses it to his advantage.

But he also understands the problems we want solved in our community. He speaks to pain points and provides solutions!

For instance!

The wealth gap has gotten even wider in recent years while our spending power increased. I believe reports say we hit $1.6 trillion last year.

…he also said this once…

Grant Cardone says poor spending habits make you a slave!

How does the wealth gap and spending correlate to each other?

Well, when you spend your hard earned money on fancy cars diamond rings and gold chains. You leave assets on the table.

Assets like:

  • Land
  • Real estate
  • Business growth
  • Stocks and bonds
  • Deeds
  • Trust
  • Life insurance policies

Things that appreciate over-time!

So, what Grant really understands or believes is that he is a status symbol of wealth. His brand represents wealth. And, instead of actual wealth most of us are simply satisfied with being associated with it.

Now! I won’t go as far to say his comments are right or wrong. I will say I’m not offended nor surprised in the slightest. He’s not the first rich person capitalizing on black culture and definitely won’t be the last!

What do you think? Is Grant Cardone out of pocket with his approach or is he just appealing to the target audience?
