Engaging Our Youth Together
In the heart of every community lies the duty to protect and nurture its youth. This responsibility doesn’t belong to one individual or organization but to everyone—parents, mentors, and community leaders alike. At a recent gathering focused on youth safety, we were reminded of the power of prayer, unity, and proactive engagement in shaping a better future for our children.
The session began with a heartfelt prayer, seeking divine guidance to empower us to find effective solutions to protect our youth. We were reminded of a stark reality: life after death is permanent. Too many young lives are being lost to violence, often due to a lack of understanding about the irreversible consequences of their actions.
As parents, it’s our duty to instill essential life tools in our children, even if it means being firm rather than being their friend. Parenting is not a popularity contest but a sacred responsibility. Unfortunately, many children grow up without the vital support of prayers, guidance, and positive influence.
This gathering emphasized the importance of standing in the gap for our children, whether they are our own or those who come into our lives through friendships and community connections. Listening to children, offering them a safe space to express their feelings, and being a guiding ear can make a significant difference in their lives. Sometimes, children find it easier to open up to someone outside their immediate family. As adults, we must seize these opportunities to provide counsel and encouragement.
This heartfelt gathering reminds us of the urgency to protect our youth and guide them with love, prayer, and purpose. 🛡️ Let’s stand in the gap, be the listening ear, and instill the tools our children need to thrive. Together, we can create a safer, brighter future. 🌟

The meeting concluded with a powerful reminder: this work is not easy, and it may be uncomfortable at times, but it is necessary. We were introduced to Angel, whose son, Davari, was a victim of gun violence. Her story serves as a sobering reminder of what is at stake and why we must remain steadfast in our efforts to save and uplift our youth.
This is a call to action for all of us to come together as a community, to have these important conversations, and to make positive, lasting connections in the lives of the children we encounter. Let’s work together to inspire, encourage, and protect the next generation.
